Even if you end up not having any mold or harmful bacteria in your house, it’s better to be safe than sorry. The alternative of neglecting mold spores can lead to serious health problems and irreparable damage to your home.
When our specialists come to inspect your home, we conduct the following tests:
The first step in our process is to provide a visual inspection. This is where our mold specialist comes to your home and surveys all parts of the home that may be at risk for mold. Since our mold inspectors are IICRC certified, they have an extensive background and training on exactly what to look for. If we can determine that there is in fact mold growing in your home, the next course of action would be mold remediation. However, if our specialists aren’t 100% certain, we would then recommend one of the following mold tests:
If we’ve been able to detect visible mold in your home, the next step is to conduct a strip test. This allows us to determine:
- What exactly type of mold you have
- What parts of your home are affected
This strip test is important to discover whether or not we are dealing with toxic black mold or non-harmful mold spores.
Oftentimes mold can be undetectable to the naked eye. Certain mold types like toxic black mold can leave a certain odor lingering in the air. If our technicians can’t find visible mold the next step is to conduct an air test. This is far and away the best method to find out the exact problem.
An air test determines:
- The specific type of mold you are breathing in
- What type of mold spores are airborne
- Compares air quality/mold count from outdoors to inside your home
All of this testing is conducted at a third party lab facility to ensure unbiased reporting. We want our clients to be 100% positive they’re getting honest treatment.
